The Portfolio Group are working with a rapidly expanding Health Tech organisation based in the Manchester area, looking to take on a Management Accountant. They have seen year on year growth sitting at around the 20% mark and have consistently produced impressive company profits. This is a newly created role which take ownership of the month-end process and lead a small team. The role will be best suited to someone newly qualified or nearing the end of their studies.
Responsibilities:
* Co-ordinate the month-end ledger close routine with the Assistant Accountants
* Analysis of invoices for accruals and prepayments
* Complete nominal ledger reconciliations (including inter-company), investigate reporting and clear any differences
* Management of 1 direct report and a further 2 indirect
* Prepare individual company management accounts for comparison against budgets, highlighting and reporting variances
* Prepare and complete VAT along with other statutory returns
* Full involvement in the coordination and preparation of year end audit files
* Support the Head of Finance with day-to-day duties and development of systems and procedures
Essential Skills and Competencies
* Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of financial reporting procedures
* Ability to organise, manipulate and present large volumes of data using Excel spreadsheets
* Can work on own initiative and under pressure
* Possess strong communication skills
DESIRABLE Skills and Competencies
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or be studying towards the achievement of such
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload
* Some commercial experience is desirable, but not essential
